"Noisy" Rhysling was a spacer who got blinded and spent his time writing poems, some of which he sang. "The Green Hills of Earth"* was one such. I had that poem printed out and posted in my gun tub. It reminded me of the "Earth" I had left behind when I joined the Navy.

Avatar is Heinlein as a Middie at Annapolis.

Username --> Combination of random people I know. It's a pseudonym I created perhaps 13 years ago in attempt to anonymity. Probably useless now in today's internet.

Avatar --> I suppose this one is self-explanatory lol.

Welcome aboard, Stocastibot. Neat name and avatar. How long have you been a roboticist (if that's the right term)?

If you ponder enough, a thought will occur, just not necessarily the answer you wanted.

Roboticist is correct.  7 years total as a roboticist---6 for my PhD, and a year now in a postdoc.

Are you battling against the coming of our robot overlords, or battling for the subjugation of humanity? ;)

Definitely for the subjugation of humanity...the poor robots need all the help they can get.
