Help with my Podcast
« on: August 03, 2010, 06:45:18 AM »
I have a podcast here in the UK based around new and interesting music. We are looking for an American voice to use in our intro, it would just sound cool to have a 'foreign' accent, makes it seem more professional. So, if any of you would like to and have a good microphone, feel free to record yourself saying "Your listening to New Music Transmission, here to aid your journey of musical discovery", or simply "Welcome to New Music Transmission". Email me any versions at steve@newmusictransmission.com, and hopefully we will be able to make something of it.

If any of you want a British male voice to intro your podcast, I'd happily return the favour.
Get used to it honey. From now on, we'll be spelling everything with letters.

I can probably help you out. I can get it done on the weekend, and try to remember to send it Sunday night.

Cool, any time would be great, I am at a festival this weekend anyway, so won't have internet access until Monday night (BST).

Canadians are welcome to have a go as well if they want, we don't know the difference  ;)

The difference is that everything sounds like a question.

Although I've also heard that kind of inflection in West Coast girls and people from Wisconsin. Admittedly that is from a very small sample base of people who happen to go to my University. The number of times I confuse Canadian and American is embarrassing. I guess it is kinda like how I always get called Australian when I go to the USA...

That's strange. I can usually tell between British and Australian. Maybe that's just me...

And, by the way, the thing about Canadians sounding like everything is a question was a joke.

British can be fairly easy because there are a fairly wide variety of accents, and only a few are similar to the aussie accent, at least to my aussie ears.

What about the difference between an Australian and a New Zealander? Those are pretty close.

I don't think I've heard a New Zealander, at least that I know of.

If I listen very carefully, I can tell a Canadian accent. But I'm crap with accents, anyway.

How does an American pick up a British accent? I'm intrigued. Do you sound like Stewie Griffin?
