Do we have to fill out 50 books? I'm a terrebly slow reader, and with my newborn baby, and my xbox, it's taking a toll on my reading. Only bathroom readings for me. BTW, are comics allowed?

Read:
  • The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Book 5) - Rick Riordan
The Wrinkle in Time Quintet Boxed Set:  - Madeleine L'Engle
    • A Wrinkle in Time
      A Wind in the Door
      A Swiftly Tilting Planet
      Many Waters
      An Acceptable Time
The Twelve Kingdoms: The Vast Spread of the Seas - Fuyumi Ono
Twelve Kingdoms, The: Skies of Dawn - Fuyumi Ono
Death from the Skies!: These Are the Ways the World Will End . . . - Ph.D. Philip Plait
    Sourcery - Terry Pratchett
The Heroes of Olympus, Book One: The Lost Hero - Rick Riordan

Tried to read:
The Sookie Stackhouse novels (Got bored half way through the first book. I blame the TV series)
"There will one day be a member named "No Lynch" and he won't be able to play mafia.  :P"

50 books is just a personal goal.
There is no competition. Just fun to see what you read last year and the year before that... And interesting to see what other, somewhat like-minded people read.

Newborn babies are acceptable excuses until they turn 18.

Comics... well, things like "Persepolis", "V" or "Watchmen" qualify.

Yeah, the books would have to be smoking to live up to the series.
Quaere verum

How about:

Planetary - Warren Ellis.
Walking Dead - Robert Kirkman

I have read those three you mentioned, but not this year.

I think it's more about length than content. So reading a TPB of Planetary or The Walking Dead should definitely count.

34. The Wee Free Men Terry Prachett
35. Dead in the Family Charlaine Harris
36. Monstrous Regiment Terry Prachett
37. A Hat Full of Sky Terry Prachett
38. Wintersmith Terry Prachett
39. Rough Guide to Hong Kong and Macau
40. Penelopiad - Margaret Atwood (fab book from the Canongate Myth Series)
41. God is not Great - Christopher Hitchens
42. Demon Haunted World - Carl Sagan
43. Going Postal - Terry Prachett
44. The Other Bolyn Girl - Phillipa Gregory
45. The Study of Man - Rudolf Steiner (this is to be able to argue the stupid anthroposophy with my in-laws, I have one more to get through)
46. Over my dead body - June Opie (a fantastic book about a young New Zealand girl who travels to England in the 1950s, by boat, and contracts polio during a stop over in Cairo. It is mostly about her time in the hospital and recovery. I would recommend this book for any skeptic or anti-vaxxers.)
