I was hoping for some spring themed advice from my favorite church sign person, Nope, this week I got.

Colleague in my office did emergency response on a guy at her country club last night - emergency breathing, chest compressions, the whole bit - even ready with the Defibrillator, taking charge of the scene and getting other people to help.  Paramedics showed up and said to keep going while they got staged up because she was doing everything right.

Dude is in the hospital this morning doing well.

I negotiated the weirdest settlement in a labour arbitration yesterday. There was money involved but the employee wanted to address the MD and 2IC on their lack of integrity. He wouldnt budge on that. The whole settlement rested on that. Eventually I got him down to agreeing he wouldnt have more than 2 minutes and told the employer there would be no right of reply. THEY AGREED! Can you believe it. So the MD and 2IC endured 2 minutes of the employee berating them and just VENTING. They were fuming with frustration. But they signed the settlement agreement after that. Craziest settlement I've ever brokered!!

If I eat lab meat, can I still consider myself a vegetarian?

This should be in the poll.

A little searching reveals that most vegetarians are cool with it, but the militant vegans are not.  Dear wife is one of the latter.

does vegetarian mean no animal proteins or just no tissue that comes from _living_ sentient animals? if it's the former, then it just becomes a kind of a dumb word.

like how we say 'being a criminal is bad .. oh, but of course I smoke weed and jaywalk because fuck those stupid ass laws'. what we mean is 'I'm not a bad person'. 'criminal' and 'meat eater' may not most accurately include and exclude the people we wish it to for us to color the group as a whole, morally.

When it says "mixed with fats", what kinds of fats is it mixed with? If it's animal fats, then it's not even vegetarian.
