Clicked "send" on TurboTax... then realized I'd forgotten about one small mutual fund that paid about $120 in dividends.  Now I'll have to amend and return some of my refund.

Wow, filed last week and got both State and Fed refunds this week.  And the form to amend my return isn't even available yet, so I get to keep the $30 or so for another month.

If you take it to Vegas, you can turn that $30 into $60, and then eat your cake and have it too.

I was filling out my daughter's taxes (because I'm the nice one and she was exhausted).  Near the end Tubro tax alerted us that she was eligible for a credit for the interest she paid on her student loans, but the free version and the $20 version couldn't handle that so we had to upgrade to the $40 version. So, we did, and when it calculated her taxes there was no difference.

So we wanted to revert to the free version. Only way to do that is to start over from the beginning.  Even though I saved before upgrading, it automatically saved when I upgraded.

Thanks to a local newspaper story, today I learned "post-mortem sperm retrieval" is a thing.

That was a plot point on a "Law & Order" episode, I do believe.

I checked my engineers license status on line to check what address was visible to the public.  I looked my self up by name and found a listing for my security guard license that expired 17 years ago.

As a forensic engineer who deals with a lot of lawyer-clients and depositions, I can confidently say... you're in deep shit.
