Does Blade Runner count?

As much as I'd really, really like to yes because it's close to the best movie ever made I'm going to have to say no.
From what I recall they are genetically enhanced clones or something? Totally biological, just enhanced you and me.

Huh?
The name of the book is "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep."

..do believe I mentioned "no androids" ?
Robots , frakin' Robots people! ;)
I don't want android movies , I want robot movies.  :)
I want life that smells of machine oil.

An "android" is any humaniform robot.  Are you saying that you want to see movies about automobile assembly lines?

Don't know how well this one dated, but Short Circuit, I freaking loved that as a kid!

No Disassemble!

I believe that there is currently a remake of Short Circuit in production.  I think I saw a trailer for it before the remake of Karate Kid.

It's kind of like how in he 50s and 60s they remade all of the good films from the 30s -- now we are remaking all of the good films from the 80s.

Westworld is a good one.  At least, my memory of it is.  Loved Yul Brenner's mirrored eyes.  Very scary.

@Beleth.. I thought we agreed to never mention mention the ending of AI again?
Really , I was having a pretty good,... some may say happy, day. :'(

Actually it should be never mention the ending of any Spielberg movie ever made again.

I thought Wall-E was a pretty moving piece of film.

Robocop's always good for a laugh (I know...Robocop himself is an android, but the ED-209 and Robocop 2 models aren't)

Short Circuit's a favourite. Hopefully they don't screw up the remake with CG effects. The fact that Johnny 5 was an actual "robot" made it all that much cooler.

Now that Short Circuit has been mentioned (I liked Short Circuit 2, too), I can mention "Flight of the Navigator" without embarrassment.

The 1980s were loaded with decent robot movies for kids.

Ah man I must've seen FOTN about 40 times between 9 and 13.
Loved that movie. Always wondered how the heck they made the space ship.

While we're on 80s movies I'd like to mention D.A.R.Y.L. But unfortunately I think he'd be counted as an android.

And the Last Starfighter had a cool robot bit in it, but again...android.

A "robot movie" would be one that's actually about robots. 2001: A Space Odyssey wouldn't count because, though it strongly features a robot, the story isn't actually about HAL. Bladerunner, on the other hand, is about robots--robots that look like people, but robots all the same--, so it would count.

Hmmm.
Why is it that the best robot stories are sad?
The word itself means something along the lines of "slave worker" in Czech, if I'm not mistaken.
