100th Episode - Request
« on: June 02, 2007, 01:49:41 pm »
The SGU 100th episode is right around the corner. I am asking all of our loyal listeners to send me (snovella@theness.com) a 1 minute or less audio tribute to the SGU.

This can contain pretty much anything you want, as long as it is relevant. Tell us how the SGU has affected your life or your outlook, tell us what your favorite SGU moment was, tell us a funny story about the SGU, whatever you want. We will include the best in our 100th episode.

Thanks for your input, and for making the SGU such a success.

I'm sending it in now! Like I said on the recording... One minute cannot sum up how much I love and appreciate this podcast and the NESS for introducing me to the world of skepticism. You guys are changing the world for the better.

I already recorded mine.  Just take a sample of Hall and Oates' "Private Eyes" from 1min30s to 2min15s and play it backwards, then listen closely.  And a big shout out to the Johns that helped me on this one: John Titor for providing me with time travel technology and John Oates for helping with the song.

You might want to note people should record it as an MP3 not a WAV. You don't want to get hit with 95 100K wav files :)

I have not received many submissions yet. We are getting down to the wire, so send them in ASAP.

WAV is fine (for just 1 minute clips).

Thanks

I sent one in.  It was a pretty huge wav file, though, even at 1 min.  I tried converting to mp3 format and it caused some static.  I have a great program called GoldWave that I use for audio, but I wasn't able to clean it up.  I think part of the problem is that the only recording device I have is my little 256MB mp3 player.

EDIT: I got rid of an extra "for."

Thanks to everyone who submitted for the 100th episode tribute. They were great.

Don't feel bad if we didn't use your entry. A couple I could not open, and a couple the sound quality was just not good enough.
