Captain Beefheart
« on: December 17, 2010, 08:12:28 PM »

I knew he had MS and was not in the best of health; still it is sad to see one of rock n roll's true originals leave us.

Spin has a nice write-up along with some choice Beefheart vids. Two Letterman interviews from the early 80s (no performances, alas) focus more on Don's painting than his music, but still well worth watching.

This Rolling Stone piece contains links to a 1970 interview and an article on Don's art, which was quite successful.

Well I'm off to drown my sorrows in Trout Mask Replica. Sail on, Captain.
