Both raccoons and squirrels need to settle down. I have to deal with both. Geese also frustrate me. I love seeing the baby geese this time of year but they make a mess of my lawn. They poop all the time. Constantly.

Tree rats.
Raccoons are downright polite by comparison.

No no no no. Those guys are evil. Cute as SHIT but absolutely the devils children. They eat small animals. They eat animals that are their size. If you have a chicken coop they will literally stick their hands through the fence and tear limbs and pieces off of the chicken if they can't get into the cage. I haven't seen the aftermath but I'm told its horrifically gruesome. No souls.

I did not know this.

That I knew, from friends who had newspaper routes back in the day.

There was a Twilight Zone episode that started off with the Good Ole Boy trying to save his hound from a raccoon that was trying to drown it. Final score: Raccoon City: 2, Hound Dog U.: 0.

They are predators, scavengers, opportunist, and thieves.

Cone of shame

I know of someone who has a Canada lynx. That cat's temperament is pretty level-headed but is still a handful to work with and expensive to keep. She has a large enclosure for him and he cannot be in the house. But ocelots, aren't they towards the more high strung and pugnacious end of the small cat spectrum? What were they like to live with, did your friend have a separate building to house them?

She lived in a penthouse apartment in Miami, back in the '70s. She had a lot of free time on her hands. It was, as they say, an arrangement. She was free to do what she would unless a certain person was in town. The cats were part of the package. She ordered new furniture about every three months. They like me.
