This announcement is to give our message board members the first notice that James Randi will be contributing a weekly segment to the Skeptics Guide. starting probably next week.

The segment will be a brief commentary by Randi. There will be no other changes to the Skeptics Guide as a result of this, except that the SGU is now produced in association with the JREF.

We are all very excited about this great addition to our show.

Now, please pardon the heavy use of technical terms in my first reaction to the good news:

Woo-hoo!  :D

Not only will this add a weekly soundbite from Mr. Randi to complement the Swift, it will also let lots of new listeners know of the great work the SGU crew has been doing.

And adding to it the fact that this latest episode is already up and it's still Friday:

Woo-hoo!²  :D

Will this be in addition to the length of the podcast, or will you try to keep it at roughly the same time?

Either way, my word for this shall be: Badassery.

Apparently, some dreams do come true.

All of us on the Skeptics Guide have been great admirers of The Amazing One for a very long time, and now to have the opportunity to work with him on our podcast is all together special.

And I'll say it again: without all of you, our loyal listers and subscribers, we would not have this great opportunity. So thank you all again, and spread the word about Randi!

Skepticality just teamed up with Shermer.  And now Skeptic's Guide has Randi!  To quote Jay, "Awwwwwesome!"

In addition, the Infidel Guy had Sam Harris last week.  I totally dug the interview!  (OK, except the slightly creepy part on reincarnation at the end.)

I am so grateful for the whole podcasting "world".  I only know a couple of skeptics or atheists in real life.  But podcasts allow me to feel like a part of a great community.

Especially if Dr. Novella pimps the message boards a little more on air.  :D

I'm sure many of the listeners aren't even aware of its existence.
