Do you usually seal them after that or do you find that works pretty good as a sealer?

Just stain wouldn't do, but this one has got some serious plastic in it, so it doesn't need anything else.

I usually do a matte spray after just to cut down the glossiness, not for any protection.  I did in this case.

I hear ya on the glossiness after washing something.  Glossy makes them look even more like toys, we need to at least be able to pretend were not just playing with toys when we nerd out with them.

So here's my latest finished model.  It's a converted finecast Grimgor model.  I painted it in black/silver LA Kings colours rather than the Charleston Chiefs colours the rest of my Black Orcs will have.

I did a Dwarf Lord recently.  This was a custom sculpt that a bunch of us had commissioned a while back.

Working on this bad boy next.  I've got it assembled, primed, and a bit of basecoating done.  Also have a nice base all ready for it to go on.

Spent most of the week home sick.  While I wasn't horizontal, I got a bit of hobbytime in.

Did some Goblin Wolf Riders

And some Cave Squig riding characters (already had the squigs done, did the characters).

It's not obvious if you're not in the hobby, but I did a massive amount of cutting, swapping, and sculpting of parts.

Put together a fun model from a different manufacturer last night - a Nightmare Whiskey Golem by Wyrd Games.

Lots of character, but I've been spoiled by the quality of Games Workshop model kits - this one was super complicated and poorly documented (I found a fan-made instruction sheet that let me parse the dozens of components).

It comes standard with a herd of "Gremlins", goblin-like little dudes that are climbing all over it.  But I'm leaving them off because I don't play Malifaux, the game this model is for.  I'm going to find a way to use it in Warhammer (likely as a proxy Giant).

Finished up those 15 dudes, and also this big guy (the paper backdrop is 8.5" tall).

Epic!

Reminds me I still have to put together and paint my Kaladrax.
