Hmm, I need to go back and fix a bunch of links here, wtf.  Also need to share some more photos.  I have my favorite show tomorrow.

Here's another bank.  My friend Karin has directed me not to take it to the show; she wants to buy it for her nine-year-old son.

I've been having some fun with these little iridescent glass baby-bracelet beads. Here's a small jewelry box and a little white box for tooth fairy transactions.

Been busy, Miss Mosaic!

I like what you did with the blue bunny box. Or is it a pig?  ;)
I suppose anything would have been an improvement tho.

Oh, hi there, everybody.  I'm still making stuff.  Yesterday I went to a jurying session for a Thanksgiving-weekend show.  This is the third time I've tried to get into this show, sheesh.  It's hard to tell how it went with the five jurors, but I felt pretty good about this display of samples.  I took along some "before" pictures; I want to incorporate more of those into my show displays.

Making magnets from the lids of milk jugs, kitty-litter jugs, etc.  First I fill 'em up with lightweight Dry-Dex spackle; it turns white as it dries.

Paint 'em white, glue magnets on the back, tile those suckers!

Raw materials.

Flat-backed beads—big sale at the craft store!

Fabric scraps from my friend Polly the costume designer.  I use them behind clear colorless glass for custom tiles.

Aforementioned custom tiles in progress, using fabric scraps and scrapbook paper from the craft store.  I also use magazine pages.

Buttons from the giant flea market at the fairgrounds!  They're lots of fun to work with, though I'm still trying to find the right kind of hard clear coat; the plastic is susceptible to terrible scratching from grout, no matter how careful I am.

Also from the giant flea market—earrings and pendants discovered during a happy rummage through a pile of treasures on a dollar table.  I snip off the posts and backs.

I recently bought a pistol-grip glass cutter. I like to decoupage patterned paper or fabric on a piece, then tile it with colorless glass.  I can get colorless glass super-cheap by buying picture frames at the thrift store, but I discovered that the glass isn't thick enough to be cut with tile nippers, and I didn't really want to go the hammer route.

With this cutter, you score the glass, then snap it (hence the pink gloves).  I started out doing random angled shapes, then practiced some strips. Gonna try doing some curves and circles.

Are those boxes the same as these boxes:

They look huge isolated.

Yes, that's the same cube bank, and you're right—it looks yuuuuge out of context!

I can't either.  Some of them might be on Photobucket, which is now being an asshole.  Or they might be linked from Facebook, where I might've rearranged albums and broken the links.  I'll update when I can.
