I listened to that 150,000,000 times when I was 10, and not once since

Good lord I think I still know the words

Took my dad to breakfast this morning.
Wanted IHOP (?)
So to IHOP we go, and this was playing, and I've been singing it to myself off and on all day

So I have to picture: a board room with wealthy executives.

"Gentlemen, are we ready to move forward with the IHOP in rural Oklahoma?"
"Yeah, almost ready. Uh, they like Petshop Boys there, right?"
"Oh, definitely. Big time."
"Done and done!"

I had no idea this was a song.

Holy crap I remember this!

Here's another classic from the same album that I now also have stuck in my head.

Who doesn't love They Might Be Giants?

So sad he is gone, but now one can share his music.  Listen to that blistering guitar solo at the end.

I only discovered the music of Stan Rogers very recently.

This cover of his wonderful song "Barrett's Privateers" (The tale of Canadian pirates attempting to take an American ship in 1778) is stuck firmly in my brain.

Well.  There it is.

Stan's music is cool.

It's about the closest that Canadian tunes come to getting patriotic I think.

He has several sea shanties.....

"Northwest Passage", "Rolling Down to Old Maui", and "Barrett's Privateers" being my favorites.

Imagine a Gordon Lightfoot type.....but 6'4", a big baritone voice, and a kick butt lumberjack beard.
Well.  There it is.
