YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Great stuff here.  I loved the Dr Who bit.

That's very funny if it's what it claims. Is it real or just a clever ad?

That kid looks so much like him that I would be surprised if it was faked other than editing.

I laughed all the way till the end until my suspicious nature kicked in.

So what kind of hardware was available 20 years ago where a kid could record something like this? 20 years ago was 1992. Video toaster? Digital camera? Wasn't that sort of stuff expensive back then?

A video to tape recorder wasn't that expensive and would be pretty much all he needed.  And he sounds like this was a hobby of his for a long time.  Maybe his parents bought him a camera instead of a nintendo

I bought a camcorder in 1995 for about $500. At that time, they were small enough to hold in one hand.

So, I'm thinking that a decent video recorder would have cost about $1000 in 1992. Seems reasonable...

How short your memory is... VHS was introduced in 1976 making home movies a very popular thing.
He even shows the tape in the clip.

Can you still play VHS tapes?

You are now skeptical of the existence of VCRs?

Me? No. Depends on what you mean by 'play'. I can pull all the guts out and dance in the wind. Does that count?

I knew I should have saved those old VHS porn tapes. I didn't think anyone still used them. Are there still 8 track players?
