Reef Tank definitely needs to be preserved for all humanity.

This reminds me I need to go look at some of those again.  I seem to recall Mickal555 posting a hilarious paint drawing at one point.

ETA:  Oops, looks like I was the one who cause that artwork.  :)

This might be a stupid question, but where is the explicit board? I can't seem to find it at all. What did I miss?

Not so stupid.  It's hiding, but you can find it.  Profile -> Account Settings -> Group Memberships.

Thank you! I don't even look at it that much, but I'd like to have the option to look at it.

HEY.  I'm still opted in.  And I'm not that crazy.

My dear, you (in this case) do not count.  You were already here.  You also can differentiate intellectual discussion and adult oriented fun.

Oh, derp.  You meant a rush of women skeptics to the forums in general, not the smut-ghetto in particular.  Never mind.  Move along.  Nothing to see here.

Reef Tank definitely needs to be preserved for all humanity.

Dammit, Belg.  I need to wash some dishes and put away some laundry (not euphemisms), but instead I took a notion to go re-read that epic again.

Thank you! I don't even look at it that much, but I'd like to have the option to look at it.

Yep, me too, exactly that.

The first rule of Explicit is you do not talk about Explicit. But if you follow AQB's instructions, you can opt-in to Explicit.

I'm really only here for the mafia games and post anywhere else very little.
The discussion in most forums has strayed over the years from decent skeptical debate to a bunch of ranting and flame wars so it's really not worth putting in my 2 cents anymore.

This is about the most depressing criticism anyone can aim at me. I'm sorry you feel this way and I'd like to make it better.

I think you're missing the ridiculawesome stuff.  The threads I post in are at an awesome:flame ratio of about 100:1

Funny, I have not seen a in rush of female skeptics yet.
Of course you haven't. Not all members who joined start posting straight away, and it's nigh impossible to tell gender from usernames unless the username is 'IAMTOTESACHICK' and even then, they're probably a troll.

I amied this criticism at noone in particular.
You have nothing to do with the ranting.
I don't even know how much you can control it.

A lot of it has to do with the members.
Some very intellectual and colloquial people have left over the years.
I'm not saying the current members aren't, but I miss discussing topics with some of those folks.
After they left, an influx of trolls happened and although most of them left or have been banned, it just isn't the same.

I think it was the troll swarm that discouraged me from discussing serious topics with people.

btw - How is Ducky?
I have not heard about his condition in some time.

Can someone update those of us concerned?

Ducky is doing fine. No current health issues and has a job he likes.

The grass is always greener, SQ.

Maybe we should all have maximum 2-year posting spans on SGUforums, you know, keep everything fresh! I kid, but I think this would be about the only way to have constant "serious" discussion taking place. There just aren't that many topics to post about here which will elicit anything more than "cool!" or "yes, I agree!" or that haven't been talked about multiple times already.

I skim through ILS now and then--it seems like a smaller group of active posters (so probably fewer temporary trolls), but I see the exact same issue there.
