Upgraded My Phone - Samsung Galaxy S5
« on: December 04, 2014, 06:26:14 PM »
I was having trouble with my old phone crashing and wanted to get a new phone.
Radio Shack had the Galaxy S5 as a "free phone" (there are some fees) on Black Friday.
Also went ahead and no longer using it as a hot spot and got a separate hot spot device.

I buy my phones without a contract these days which is a pain in the ass at the time but makes me happy when I realise Im free from my provider and pay a bit less overall.
It means Ive become super paranoid choosing phones though because Ive never been 100% happy with a phone and its always the little flaws rather than the tech limits that bug me.
I really loved my iphone 3GS but I really hated the restrictions with itunes.

You can sometimes get good deals on older phones on eBay . . . .Something you might want to consider
Something that is pretty incredible is that the pictures the cell phone takes rivals my new digital camera and far easier to do panoramas.

I am just about to upgrade my iphone 3GS! That little phone is pretty much on life support but I still love it. Never the same since I dropped it down the toilet. I think taking apart a phone and putting it back together again changes your relationship with it.

I am getting an HTC One M8.

I wanted a Samsung Galaxy but the fees are slightly higher and the one M8 has got some really good reviews. Actually, I wanted an iphone 6 but it is too steep.

I always get my phones from Costco. I usually get the phone one rev down. I got my Samsung Galaxy S3 right after S4s came out and I paid like $30 for it (with a 2-year contract but I was going to get that contract anyway).

I recently changed up my phone too.  Decided to skip Samsung this time (Though I was really drooling over the Note 4) and went with the Sony Xperia Z3.  Can't say I've regretted it thus far and am really looking forward to the summer when I can take it in the pool with me (it's IP68 certified).

I got a new one too - skipped from a note 2 to a note 4.  And financed the entire thing for less than my original plan.  So that was good.  Went with Sprint for that deal, because I think they are hurtin for customers.

I too gave up on Samsung. I'm finding the quality isn't there anymore. I got a Nexus "google" phone from the playstore. For christmas I'm getting my GF a one plus one to replace her S3.

I'm thinking about making that exact move - is it that much better, day-to-day?

So far, so good.  Still evaluating, but the new controls are spinning me out.
