Antichrist, I hated every minute but couldn't look away.   I read a review of it afterwards in which the critic suggested the directed just wanted to antagonize the audience.  I cant' discount that theory.

Really enjoying the new MST3K as well.  I'm about halfway through and very much love it.

Some of the movies aren't too bad, but OMG Starcrash has to be objectively one of the worst movies ever.  Just outright horrible.

I saw Starcrash way way back. One might be forgiven if you watched it and thought "oh MST3K is doing a 80s soft core porn movie with all the nudity edited out." No. This is the way we made movies back then.

Finished Occupation on Netflix. I really enjoyed it. Not sure why it got such lousy reviews on netflix. The thing was made in 2015 but seems almost like a commentary on today. The only issue I have with it is the story isn't wrapped up in season 1. Clearly they saw this as going a couple seasons. It does, however, appear they will be making a season 2.

Bill Nye Saves the World

Fun show. My kids (10 & 12) are fans. We introduced them to his old show some time ago and they love it.

So, I binge watched all of 13 Reasons Why tonight, based off a meme I posted some days ago. I admit that I am have been in a somewhat emotional state recently, and I did drink a few beers while binge watching this, but man... There's something emotionally destructive about this series. It didn't quite hit me until the final episode, though. I've shed a few manly/bullish tears during a few movies and selected episodes of several TV series, and I'm not sure if it was this series per sé (though it was definitely one of the best "teen drama" series I've seen), but something about the last episode of this one made me pretty much just weep uncontrollably... Multiple times. Left me feeling entirely powerless. Could just be my state of mind, but I can't not mention it here in good conscience knowing that this thread exists. Reminded me a bit of Veronica Mars meets  Life Is Strange (video game), but more emo than the former and less emo than the latter, with less sleuthing but with a similar amount of mystery. And maybe a bit of Paper Towns, as well, but more depressing. The characters (and writing and acting) are excellent. It also has one of the most

If you hate (teen/high school/depressive) drama, skip it. Otherwise, I can't really imagine how they could have improved on it.

Handmaid's Tale? I've read the book and saw the movie. It's pretty okay so far.

The acting got better to the point where you forget how it started, but man.. some of those teenagers were awful at the beginning. I think if you watch the first few episodes again you'll cringe from some of the dialogue and how it's delivered.

I stopped watching after a few episodes only because I'd  have to torrent them since I don't have the CW (and I generally HATE the CW) but Riverdale seemed really promising. Similar dark depressive teen drama, but more fantastical since the characters are based on the Archie comics.

It may just be the fact that I'm not a native English speaker (though I usually notice), but I didn't notice anything like that at all.

EDIT: Just to add, I just clicked through the first episode a bit to see what you're referring to, but other than the dialogue being intentionally awkward because the characters are awkward, I don't get it at all.

I'm waiting anxiously for it.
It's a little pat and 'young adult' and I wish there wasn't narration, but I love a good dystopia. I get off on the weird world-building details like proxy-birthing and partici-cution. I wish there were more of those.

I love the proxy birth. So fucking creepy. Even more creepy, Mormon cult leader Warren Jeffs did much the same thing. Only certain men were deemed worth to continue their lines. Married couples had to arrange the services of one of these men...

The women's trial in ep 3 was pretty disturbing. The "other army" bit reminds me of those yahoos that turn out with their AR15 and solider boy outfits at events. Atwood makes the point that there's nothing in Handmaid's Tale that hasn't already happened in society.

The Good Place.

Holy motherforking shirtballs is this a great show.  And it is impossible to understand how great until you watch the whole season at least twice.  I can not say more, other than you are welcome forknuts.
