I thought for sure this would end up on the "not the best" list but nope, it belongs here.

Avenue 5  8/10

This show just keeps getting better. When I saw the previews I was disturbed that Hugh Laurie was using is American "House" accent when other actors were using British, it made no sense. This is so well explained by the plot and has become non stop comedy, its just so funny, he is doing such a great job.

I wonder how many Americans watch this and think "wow he really nails that British accent" LOL

There are some really morbid and dark yet funny things happening, Gravity sucks. I'm not sure how real the science is on some of this but I don't care if its off, its funny.

Zach Woods who I really liked on Silicone Valley gets on my nerves, the character is similar but over exaggerated.

The reviews aren't great but I think it's excellent. It's not as riotously funny as something like Veep but the jokes are incredibly good and I'm actually very interested in where they go with the plot. I really enjoy the hell out of it every week.

Agreed, no idea why it has such a poor rating.

I pay for cable and 4 streaming services, and none of them get me Avenue 5.

Let me guess: Hulu, Amazon, Netflix and CBS?

(If you have Apple+ I think you can get it for a fee)

Nah in Canada some of the flavours are different.

Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Crave

(Here to get Avenue 5 you need Crave plus an add-on for HBO stuff)

I just realized Season 4 of Better Call Saul was out

I'm up to the finale, holy shit this is some nice writing.
loving this way more than the earlier seasons, really starting to pay off and enrich Breaking Bad, too.

Strong agree. Better Call Saul is better than Breaking Bad. Fight me.

it's making me want to re-watch both shows. I might have to now that I'm back to drip-fed weekly episodes.

it's definitely proving they weren't just trying to ride the coattails of success, it's equally as good if not better.

Yeah, personally, I actually like Better Call Saul more.  It's very nicely done.

The last episode of Better Call Saul was pretty dam amazing, it keeps getting better.  The 2 shows are colliding at a much faster rate than I expected. I also want to see a full B&W flash forward episode and think we will get one before the show ends.

The visual effects on Avenue 5 are fantastic  >:D

Taskmaster (the original UK version).

It's a comedy panel show where often the greatest pedant wins, through carefully interpreting the rules for each task, and by being observant. My main complaint is that sometimes it isn't pedantic enough, and relies too much on the host's whim.

The team task can be the best part of an episode. But in terms of scoring, it seems unfair how much it matters for the per person series total, when who you're grouped with can make all the difference (the teams are the same through each series).

I keep getting excited that this is a new Marvel show and then being disappointed.

ZeroZeroZero

A crime series dealing with the drug trade and one particular drug deal. It is filmed in Mexico, New Orleans, and Italy and each episode switches between these locations. These correspond to the source of the drugs, the brokers who ship the drugs, and the buyers of the drug shipment. Very well made with some great sequences, but be forewarned, it is pretty violent. It has a similar feel to the Italian crime series, Gomorrah. Definitely recommended if you like this kind of stuff.

Hap and Leonard
Two down on their luck labourers in 1988 East Texas get mixed up in noirish mysteries and scrapes.
Each season follows one story , the tension is thick and the action carries weight and consequences.
Highly recommend!!
