Anyone want to roll20 with me?
« on: March 04, 2015, 06:50:43 PM »
Me, you, some dice, beer optional  >:D

So i'm a geek (shocker!).  I'm a geek who likes good old fashioned table top role playing games.  I still consider myself a novice but I enjoy it immensely and i'm keen to develop my skills and style as a GM.

With that in mind i was wondering if anyone on here would like to do a midweek role playing session, either over Google hangouts, roll20.net or skype (all free).  I'd quite like to GM to start with as i'm in a game as a player and am craving my GM fix.  But i'm happy/keen to pass the GM role around over time.

I'm looking for three to five other people, no previous experience with RPGs is necessary, and a sense of humour is desirable.  I'm currently off work so i'm reasonably flexible with time but it should be noted i'm in the UK (GMT +0).

Any takers?
G

Ironically enough, I just started a very similar thread over in Forum Games...

http://sguforums.com/index.php/topic,43805.0.html

I'm totally open to passing around the GM hat if it becomes a regular thing, although you'd want to (of course) familiarize yourself with the (very simple) FATE Core rules in order to proceed (you'd get the hang of them after a session or two, they're pretty straightforward).

I'd be up for it, but timezones are a total bitch.

Apologies for posting in the wronmg section.  Since ive never played anything id call a forum game i didnt think itd be catagorised as such.  Now i know ^^.

Hehe snap, i actually started learning fate the other day.  My background is pathfinder, D6 star wars and a little victoriana.  Im liking the look of fate as a more "narrative" system.

What timezone you in arthwallipot?  And you johnny?

I'm literally on the other side of the planet. Any time that is convenient for anyone in the US or Europe will be stupid-o-clock in the morning for me.

I have zero experience but would be willing to give it a whirl.

I'm interested. Free weekend afternoons and tues-thur eves. I'm in Toronto, currently GMT-5.

I have lots of experience with tabletop role playing, but not with those specific systems. Happy to learn them, though. I've wanted to play an online RPG for a long time. I understand Google Hangouts are used extensively for tabletop rpgs.

There are enough people in eastern time zone to make this work. I just wish I had more time.

I registered my interest on the other thread. I'm GMT plus 2 (I think).

I'm not sure i follow with eastern time... My google fu suggests THIShttp://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/est is it?

I'm interested. Free weekend afternoons and tues-thur eves. I'm in Toronto, currently GMT-5.

I just popped on the other thread and suggested a tues-thursday at 5pm-7pmish in toronto would be workable for me (10pm-midnightish for me).  A bit of me thinks a merge threads is in order... but then again with me and Johnny being in very different timezones maybe keeping them separate will help players separate into compatible groups?

I registered my interest on the other thread. I'm GMT plus 2 (I think).
1 or 2 hours is a small enough difference to be very workable timewise.  i can't really do Sat-Mon though thats the only thing.
