Okay I have another one to add, which might not be entirely fair since it's not a regular podcaster or media personality, but whatever. In the "Amateur Hour" episode of This American Life, they did a story about two girls who had to take care of fake babies for a school assignment. You can listen to it here: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/549/amateur-hour?act=2#play
One of the girls had one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard. You'll know it when you hear it. I mean, the host felt the need to specifically comment on her voice, so that should tell you something. I thought I'd get used to it throughout the episode. I was wrong.

Yeah, when it was revealed that she was home-schooled, that struck me as the least incredible thing I have ever heard. There is no *way* she'd survive in a public junior high/middle school with that voice.

US public radio used to have show called talk of the nation. L.  They'd interview experts who'd done decades of research then have Billy bob call up an "ask" a question.  By "ask" I mean give his half baked theory.   As often as not the host and guest would completely ignore the callers point and just move on.  Hated that show.

As we're talking about annoying things, can someone tell Steve that the word 'herb' has a 'H' at the beginning? A recent episode had Steve talking about 'erbs for 10 minutes.

I'm from the North of England where dropping letters from words is something to do a rainy Sunday afternoon (goin' down t'pub f' pint) but that just annoyed me.

Don't you know the H is silent like the K in knife?  :D :D
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'.

Americans (not just Bostonians) don't pronounce the "h".

I fucking HATE reality tv too. Who gives a shit what the rich snob kardashians or snooki are doing? I mean who fucking cares? Wanna see the worst reality show ever? Try catfish. These 2 guys have people send them videos of personal problems and they go "fix" them by using nothing special. It amounts to the senders being too stupid to take the initiative of correcting it themselves.

We have a local news show and every night they have this segment called "talk back" where people phone in their concerns. It's almost always old people and their complaints are trivial or inane. One time this guy called to complain that the weatherman never gets the outlook right. Here's an idea, watch a different channel. Another called complaining that the township was removing snow from the roads but not from the sidewalks. The most asinine calls you'd ever want to hear. My wife and I like to listen literally for a laugh.
