Ok in the interests of keeping the momentum going i shall suggest a format.

Game opens at the beginning of the month, at this point a topic or theme (the "challenge") is put forward.
For the next two weeks the post is open for submissions.
After two weeks a poll is erected (GIGIDY!).
Polling closes one week after it opens.
he or she with the most votes wins, and is then in possession of all the kudos.
The winner then presents the next challlange at the start of the next month.

So in summary:
2 weeks writing.
1 week comment, feedback and voting.
1 week downtime, during which the winner choses the next challange.

Seem good?  Any refinments?

Sounds good! Will you set the challenge for this month? It doesn't matter that it will be short because of the initial enthusiasm, I think.

Your awesome idea.  You pick the theme.

Just submit them on the thread?
I always like the surprise of finding out which was whose at the end... so I'm suggesting PMing the submission to Ograe, O anonymizes them for the poll, we vote without knowing the author.

I'm not sure whether I prefer anonymous submission or not.  I guess I lean toward it, especially if voting is involved.  The only issue could be formatting.  Some people are very particular about the formatting of their poetry.

Remember to check out the separate April poetry competition thread, which has the theme for April.

I think this is a better place to talk about this than the game thread.  I would like to express my preference for themes expressed without analysis or explanation.  I know you did not mean—and explicitly said that you'd did not mean—your explanation and interpretation of the theme to be limiting, but I cannot help feeling it so.
