I want to like to this band but they are just so boring.

The album is not terrible and the second half improves on the first half, but I'd give it a 6.5

man, you should see the psychotic state that is my facebook feed.

I've been catching up on a lot of music lately.

but my favorite song of the year is from a genre called 'gypsy punk'

although it's in very stiff competition with perhaps the most fucking epic song ever made, from this Finnish epic music composer, who, being a Finn, also appreciates heavy metal :)

oh, and as soon as RuTracker is back up and running I'll be gunning for this group's discography. some of it is generic EDM background music I don't care for at all, but the trip-hop stuff is nice, and it's great to hear world music where the singers are actually all good singers (rather than the 'authentic' normal folk who sound a bit off)

I'm so into this track right now.

Yeah, that was really interesting. I enjoyed it a lot.

I had forgotten about Gogol Bordello - someone introduced me to him in the first ForumVision (Alex Butterfield?) and I immediately fell for him (Gogol, not Alex).I love that purple song particularly too! But eish, that Russian Folk Metal...notsomuch!

I was introduced to a lot of music I wanted to follow up on in ForumVision, but I never got round to it and then it was all lost in the crashes. Did anyone keep a record? I think I remember AQB saying she had made YouTube playlists each week. If they are out there, could you share the links?

I love the 'acid country' genre. Alabama 3 especially. You'll know them, they did the theme song for The Sopranos. But my favorite song of theirs is Ain't going to Goa

No idea what genre this is. But you know I'm a sucker for the organ. Give the song time to unwind. It starts to take off at about 1:40. The band is WU LYF. The initials stand for 'World Unite. Lucifer Youth Foundation'. The song is just called LYF. Their album, Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, is one of those to appreciate by listening to the full album in one sitting (and in track order,of course). Another album like that is 'Hot Walker' by Tom Russel. Most of his stuff is rubbish. But Hotwalker is a masterpiece.

I was just listening to Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga tear it up. Enjoyable.

I listen mostly for the chorus, the rest is alright, but man, the energy the female vocalist puts into it just leaves the other singer in the dust.
