The latest Propagandhi is quite a lot more metal than I'd expected.

So glad they're back. We need them now, more than ever.

Around this time of year I can't get enough White Zombie.
Only a few years ago I found out my friend Shannon is the silver gogo dancer in this video.  :D

I gave Sorceress by Opeth a relisten to see if it got any better.  It still blows.
To make up for this, I rewatched the Roundhouse DVD.
I disavow anyone in the movement involved in any illegal, unethical, sexist, or racist behavior. However, I don't have the energy or time to investigate each person and case, and a lack of individual disavowals for each incident should not be construed as condoning such behavior.

Walking through Kroger today and this song came on.  It had been a while since I had heard it, but it's surprising how much it applies to today.

Quote

Class warfare kept outta the news
Replaced by a corporation's political views
Cause this is where the guns are manufactured and sold
The land that was stolen stripped of all of its gold
Old timers on the death bed speakin' the wisdom
Immigrants crucified by conservative Christians
Now we all got freedom to die in the street
But the difference is more of us die in a week
Than they die in a year

one of the things I love about this song is that, at first, the hook sounds like building to a single sentence, but it's actually 3 distinct questions:

1) How can anybody have you?
2) How can anybody have you and lose you?
3) How can anybody have you and lose you and not lose their mind too?

Loved her first 2 albums, third was meh, fourth was better. This fifth one didn't quite grab me at first but it's growing on me.

Current fave- a band I used to listen to in high school and rediscovered while listening to One OK Rock. Several more albums amd still as good, if not better, than when I listened to them over a decade ago.

King Krule recently dropped a new album (The OOZ). Love having this on when I'm pulling a night shift.

Quite enjoying revisiting this quirky old band from the 1990s.
