HELMS ALEE is one of the best doomy metal bands going right now. If you like that kind of thing and you get the chance to see them live, don't pass it up!

I survived 30 seconds of that country music BS.
Had to bleach it out of my mind with this:

I kind of fell out of Type O after "October Rust".
But I love love love "Slow, Deep, and Hard" and "Bloody Kisses"

I've been diving deeply into Epic Rap Battles of History once again, in part because of conversations in a nerdcore chatroom.

One of the most well-written battles of the entire series, and the whole video is Lego. It's been awhile since I updated my personal top 10 list, but I have a feeling this would be on it.

Good FSM, this is going to send me down a rabbit hole I didn't even know I wanted to be in. Thanks for that.  :)

I'm a major Watsky fan, so every time he pops up on someone else's work I have to check it out. This is one of those songs that gets stuck in my head on a regular basis, and not just Watsky's verse, Herbal T is also phenomenal, and the beat is wild. I'll be completely honest and say the track is far from "perfect" because I nearly always skip the extra bits after T's verse ends, but up until that point the song proper is about as close to perfect as a modern rap song can get.

Just procured tickets to see Lake Street Dive for their upcoming tour. These guys put on a great live performance. I always have them on my "Road Music" iTunes playlist. From the new album:

The Fierce And The Dead

Two friends of mine (colleagues from work actually) play in this rather good instrumental rock band. They are hard to define: prog metal math fuzz rock or something.

They played in The States last year. Their star is on the rise it seems.

Sarah Shook and the Disarmer's new album drops today.  I pre-ordered the CD from the label, but it won't be here till tomorrow.
