Thats some uncanny valley shit right there.
He doesnt even stand like a human. It actually looks like how an action figure would stand.

The crossovers should be pretty awesome.

I'm wondering if I should catch up on season one of Supergirl...

His eyes look too far apart and like they are both looking a tad too far to the outside.  Also something about the lines of his body around his stomach and thighs just looks off to me; like too straight or something. I'm guessing they photoshopped the heck out of him.

Superman needs a shave. I hope he does it this way:

They should have just cast swapped him with Brandon Routh.
Hide his stupid round face in that stupid knock off Ironman suit.
Sorry. I get uppity on Brandon Rouths behalf.

And the Invasion crossover starts over thanksgiving.  Get in on it folks.

I watched season 1 on DVD from Netflix. I liked it, but until reading this thread with so many of you folks praising it, I was ashamed to admit it. The biggest discrepancy for me was that with all those escaped prisoners plotting to destroy the world, Superman stays out of it, apparently because he is ethically opposed to helping the government. But I figured that either the makers of this series didn't have the rights to use Superman, or else they just didn't want to eclipse Supergirl: This is her story, not his. So I let it pass. I like that she is both humble and assertive. Vulnerable and strong. And of course it doesn't hurt that she is hot.

James Olson's metamorphosis from scrawny cub to strong hunk also grates, but I accept that also, because Supergirl needs a better love interest than the geeky guy.

I found a preview of episode 1 of season 2, in which the pod is opened and there's another Kryptonian. I said to myself, "Another Superman, after all the inconsistency we swallowed in order to keep the first Superman out of Supergirl's story???" And I decided not to bother renting season 2. (When it becomes available.)

We're working through a backlog of a lot of other shows right now, so the whole Arrowverse is laying in wait for us. I don't expect to see Flash or Supergirl until next year, really. I've given up on LoT at this point, and while I like Arrow, it's too intense for Mrs. Tove, so I have to watch it on my own time.

Same for me.

I read something the other day that made a lot of sense, that supergirl was always bad tv, with lazy writting etc, but that  Melissa Benoist has so much charisma in her role and looks like she is having so much fun doing it that it makes the viewer see the show through rosy glasses.

Now the person that wrote that was going too extream with his theory, but it seems like it has a nugget of truth.

totally agree.  Benoist seems born to play this role, but I wish the writing was better.

We have abandoned the DC universe - movies and tv. My daughter - who is 6 and has ZERO sense of what is good - thinks it's great, but in good conscience I can't really let her watch this shite past S01E06.

*sigh*

The show hasn't really been about Supergirl for some time now.
I'm only watching it due to inertia.
