Christians Petition Netflix to Cancel Amazon's Good Omens

Quote
A Christian group called Return to Order is very upset with the Amazon series Good Omens, which features the forces of heaven and hell teaming up to stop the Antichrist. So upset, in fact, that they have amassed more than 20,000 signatures demanding it be canceled (all episodes are already streaming on Amazon Prime) by … Netflix.

It left me a little cold.  The more I think about it, swaths of the book does too.  Especially Shadwell's treatment of Agnes, and her "ability to see the love underneath".

The series is fabulous. All of the cast is good, but David Tennant is brilliant as the demon Crowley. The series is worth watching just to see how he inhabits the character.

Well that was brilliant!

Thanks for turning me on to that. I binged it all yesterday.

Now I want to read the book.

It was very faithful to the book, which is great if you liked the book.  I kind of hated it though.
But it's still worth watching just for David Tenant, if it wasn't for his um, other role, this would be a career defining job.  Saying he is brilliant is a huge understatement.
I disavow anyone in the movement involved in any illegal, unethical, sexist, or racist behavior. However, I don't have the energy or time to investigate each person and case, and a lack of individual disavowals for each incident should not be construed as condoning such behavior.

I am assuming you meant the Dr but he was bloody fantastic and quite horrible as The Purple Man.

I am not David Tennant - but that is flattering.

I didn't read the book. My wife is a huge fan. I enjoyed it. Very HHGTTG. Obviously the writing and humor and tone were inspired by it.

Pratchett had a ton of Adams-esque tones to his writing, for sure.  Distinct in his own style, but similar.
