If Audiobooks are your thing you might want to check this company out. They do what they basically call "Audio Movies" where they get a full cast, sound effects and music to basically turn books into radio play style presentations. They're not overly expensive, have multiple options ranging from basic mp3 to 5.1 surround sound FLAC files. The productions are really well done (from what I've experienced). The books are "abridged" but not in the "we're cutting this scene" sense. But in the "We don't need to spend 2 paragraphs describing how it's raining, cue the rain sound effect" sense

I've been listening to Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series and so far I haven't noticed any missing scenes or dialogue. Highly recommended if you're a fan of audiobooks.

I will second this. I used to listen to a lot of trashy pulp fiction from them. The Survivalist and the Wasteland series were my favorites.
