Dude! Die Hard 3 was AWESOME.

Just forget that 2 exists.

I saw what was supposedly a Die Hard movie on TV the other week.

it was staggeringly boring for about 20 minutes before I stopped paying it any attention, so I'm not even sure that's what it was. very 80s, bad human action, Bruce Willis. possibly DH2

"Die Hard with a Vengeance" is a great action film. DH2 was just ridiculous crap.

I'm glad to see you have totally forgotten about "Die Hard 4.0" & "A Good Day to Die Hard". As you should  ;)

The Matrix is the big one for me.  Lots of others where you can kind of dissociate yourself from the alleged continuity and enjoy a poorer sequel on its own without the baggage of it following a golden original, but The Matrix...

yeah, highlander and others were kind of one off movies with no real intention of a sequel, the matrix ended on a huge cliff hanger and everyone was so dissapointed by what we got.

The Tim Burton era Batman films probably go here too

I disagree. Batman 2 with Danny DeVito as the Penguin, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman was a great movie.

Of course I am insane. There has never been any doubt about that. All my friends agree, and I've never been accused of being sane.

But you cannot possibly think that the second Batman movie with DeVito and Pfeiffer is less than a spectacularly great movie! Penguin and Catwoman are marvelous. Now, I'm not saying that Michelle Pfeiffer was the best Catwoman ever. But she was a wonderful Catwoman, and the movie was brilliant. And Michael Keaton was certainly the best of the recent (Burton and later) Batmen.

The premier episode of Glee was great, and the first season overall was uneven but very good.  The second season shows some heavy cracks, the rest just complete disasters.

Yes but be very careful how you proceed from here.

There is a Trilogy but you really need an altered state of consciousness for the other two.
Proceed with extreme caution
