Solar Cargo Ships?
« on: December 25, 2016, 08:42:33 AM »
I was looking up something else and found this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C3%BBranor_PlanetSolar

Makes we wonder if a completely solar powered cargo ship could be built?

I'll bet there's a way that wind could be used to power ships. Maybe you could put big sticks on them and hang bed sheets on the sticks so the wind could push you along.

So it would be sort of like solar sails on spaceships?

Exactly. But with the wind instead of sunlight pushing on the "sails."

We could even use the solar panels to power giant fans to blow on the sails!
