Geez I had no idea his Filmography is so long.

I have a strong remembrance of him from when I was a kid watching Buck Rogers from the 2 part episode Flight of the War Witch where he played Queen Zarinas heavy (Zarina played by Catwoman Julie Newmar)

you can watch it free here https://www.nbc.com/buck-rogers-in-the-25th-century/video/flight-of-the-war-witch-part-1/3979554

I sure miss those 70s science fiction outfits

I was also a fan of Jason of Star Command, Sid as Dragos scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Acclaimed stage actor and voice of Marvin in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Stephen Moore (81)

Quote
It is perhaps ironic that the vastly experienced, smooth as silk, inherently funny stage actor Stephen Moore, who has died aged 81, should be remembered mostly for voicing a robot, the paranoid android Marvin in the original radio series of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Douglas Adams’s hilarious science-fiction adventure began in 1978 and Moore stayed with it through four more series, the television show (still just the voice), the records and the audio books.

John Whitherspoon.  You may not know the name, but I bet you know the voice.  His deliver was distinctive, and part of what made him so damn hillarious.

Nope. Not even a little. I checked IMDB, and I’m not sure I’ve seen anything he was ever in.

He was on David Letterman all the time back when he was on CBS.  That's where I got to know him.  Do yourself a favor and watch Friday.

Never regularly watched Letterman, either.  I'll look into it, but the 'stoner comedy' genre is not one I generally enjoy.

Friday goes a bit beyond "stoner comedy"  "Hood comedy"  mite be more appropriate but just about anyone can appreciate it, its much better than you would think even if you would not typically watch a film like that.

I know it's hard to believe, but he sells that shit lice it was water in the sahara.  His acting is fearless too.  Like that dog line or his stuff in Black Jesus.  It makes his character look like an asshole, but you feel him, and where he is coming from.

I forgot to post it here when I heard the news, but William Ruckelshaus died a few weeks back.  First head of the E.P.A., and perhaps the only "pro business" environmentalist that I ever liked.  Oh also the whole taking down Nixon thing, that was cool too.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/27/us/politics/william-ruckelshaus-dead.html

He's featured in one of my favorite OTM segments from the past several years, talking about the early days of the E.P.A.  I think there's some shade thrown at Anne Gorsuch at one point too.

Caroll Spinney also died today.

He is best known for being the voice and puppeteer for Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street.

René Auberjonois

Only today I realized he played a Nazi in one of my favorite TV shows (in one episode). Without a mask/as much makeup as on DS9, where I now know the name from. I didn't recognize him, though it seems obvious now that I'm aware of it.

I wonder if the extra time spent in makeup is worth it for the additional anonymity it offers, or if the problematic fans are the ones who would recognize you regardless.
