Justin Trudeau engages in pseudoscientific cupping
« on: April 27, 2017, 02:40:40 PM »
Before you all get excited by the combo of Trudeau and cupping:
http://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/what-is-cupping-and-why-is-justin-trudeau-doing-it/
I am so disappointed and embarrassed. I was counting on our Prime Minister to believe in science, not quackery. And now all the woo practitioners are gleefully promoting their business and practices, showing pictures of Trudeau looking like he wrestled a giant squid. I've been getting in arguments with people who say, "It's ok. I'm sure he would never use our limited health care dollars to promote nonsense! What difference does it make?"
I feel an excess of yellow bile coming on.

That's disappointing.
Every soup ladled to the hungry, every blanket draped over the cold signifies, in the final sense, a theft from my gigantic paycheck.

As much as this would confirm my suspicions about what kind of a "thinker" he is, I have not seen a source stating this that I trust.  Withholding judgement until that point.

It's not so bad, he isn't channeling the spirits of previous PMs or consulting astrologers to make policy.  And he's not orange.

Trudeau is just a dumbass, but as disappointing as that is he's not Harper.

On the balance of things I'm much more pissed off about the electoral reform broken promise than this, it's not even close.

I'm not familiar enough with the publication to say one way or the other.  It's my nature to say, "Hold on," when something would only reinforce my pre-existing assumptions about political leaders.  I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt here until we have a direct quote or statement from him or until I see numerous images of that stupid round bruising.

Ah. It's the main political news publication in Canada. Similar to Time magazine. It is considered to be extremely reputable.

I've seen some criticize him as excessively fond of China.  This'll probably raise that crowd's hackles.  Cupping's part of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
