These guys are too moody. :(

My favorite Cornell song.

I agree - he was a great singer.  I think now that the grunge singing style is really frowned upon - thank you Creed.  But he could belt the tunes, and his voice showed the emotion of the tune - which is missing from most songs nowdays.
Now where I come from

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

He was an amazing vocalist with incredible range. Very sad that even when someone seems to have everything depression can still headfuck them.

I never listened to grunge - I'm not even sure I could identify grunge songs by style or anything.  Maybe Counting Crows - I checked, they are considered grunge-light.

I'm not even sure why it never clicked with me - or why I wasn't exposed to it more because it seems like it might've been my thing... and now they're all gone.

Eddie Vedder is now the Betty White of grunge.

(Can't take credit for that one; saw it in a tweet.)

Damn, late to this news.  I'm going to belt out You Know My Name during the drive home in remembrance.
