... in war the screams are loud and harsh and in peace the wail is so drawn-out we tell ourselves we hear nothing.

I'm not sure where to post this, I want to post it EVERYWHERE! She bought a brand new Tesla 3 just to chop the top off and make a truck.

I’m not sure how to feel about that.

This is related to an issue I have with environmentalists.

When California and the US set emission standards and goals for autos, they put the highest priority on getting the lowest emissions or zero emissions in as many vehicles.

And that's a fine goal, but, it may have been better to pursue a fleet wide reduction in emissions.

The difference being large vehicles, especially SVUs and Trucks.

A hybrid design could boost mileage of one of these big vehicles more than the hybrid mileage boost that a smaller car gets.

But their goal isn't just to reduce emissions, it's also to encourage people to buy smaller cars.

Some people need larger vehicles and in many cases they can be more efficient than smaller vehicles.

And a large number of consumers prefer large vehicles but would happily buy them with hybrid systems. (Right now the only ones available are already high priced, and the hybrid system adds significantly to the prices and there's not government rebate of subsidy available).

So if manufacturers could build the hybrid vehicles many of their customers want (in addition to the one's they're building now) there would be a greater reduction in emissions overall.

There are no plugin electric trucks available in the US.  I did see an article about one that's supposed to come out soon that looks amazing, but out of my price range.

The batteries are all slung down at the tire level in a skateboard design, leaving the front engine compartment as a trunk, with enough bed space to lay down sheets of plywood.  Claiming 400+ miles to a charge, 11k pound towing capacity, 0-60 in 3 seconds.  They have an SUV model as well with similar specs.  Price estimate is around $70k.

There are companies that will take a Ford
Or Dodge truck and replace the engine and transmission with a hybrid system

I saw one in the wild a few weeks ago
