Favourite youtube channels?
« on: July 30, 2017, 08:26:08 am »
So, I was about to make a thread about one of my favourite channels when I stopped and thought:

"Why dont I just ask people what their favourite channels are?"

So what are your favourite youtube channels?

To list a few of my favourites: (in no particular order)

H3H3 - general/comedy
The Needle Drop - music reviews etc
Super Bunny Hop - games
FreddieW - has some good stuff, fun cinematography
The Nostalgia critic - films and tv
Every Frame a painting - film + cinematography analysis
Rick Beato - music education
Adam Neely - music education
Captain Dissolusion - debunker
Folding Ideas - general/educational
.....

I feel like those are my go to when I decide to watch something off youtube. There are a few others I think that are about science and stuff that I like, but I tend to stick towards more analysis, criticism and introspective stuff. What are your favourite youtube channels?

Primitive Technology

A hobbyist replicates stone age technology and techniques with his bare hands.  The videos are simply footage of him working in silence.

Sample Video:
... in war the screams are loud and harsh and in peace the wail is so drawn-out we tell ourselves we hear nothing.

Michael Stevens is back with Vsauce, after having finished his tour with Adam Savage.

I'm really loving Screen Junkies Universe right now.
Its the good parts of screen junkies distilled without the annoying personalities.
Roth Cornett (a great critic who Ive followed for years) generally teams up with Dan Merl and they analyse box office numbers, studio announcements and review films in pretty good 20min segments.
Perfect for morning coffee.

Edit-Oops! Screen Junkies News. Not universe.

I have to keep reminding myself that the drivers showcased are not representative of the typical Russian motorist. If they were there would be no driveable cars in Russia at this time. And all the pedestrians would be dead or permanently maimed.

Polygons' YouTube is hurting a bit with the Nick Robinson thing, since he was big for several of their running shows. They haven't taken anything down though, and they have a mix of self-contained shows with a definite arc and running series like Monster Factory.

Primitive Technology is amazing. Some great channels, thanks guys (and gals). As for Russian Dash Cam, makes me anxious just watching it.

Ive been watching Lindsay Ellis's youtube channel, good film analysis. I really enjoy it.
