Music that you are somewhat ashamed of liking?
« on: November 19, 2017, 10:50:21 AM »
For me, I'm not really a fan of rap or hiphop. It's a style and subculture that doesn't really speak to me, and in fact can have some rather dark sides to it. But I do find some Eminem songs really great, and deeply meaningful.

Pure gold.

There is no music that I'm ashamed of liking. (I can't say the same about books or tv.)

I genuinely like some pop which I hate about myself.  Taylor Swift is catchy, Bruno Mars has some bangers.  Damnit.

There is no music that I am ashamed of liking. If I like it I like it.

The philosopher Eddie Van Halen once said "If it sounds good it is good."

What sounds good to you is fine by me. No shame.

I think this is gorgeous, and thumb my fish mask at any that don't agree,

I think I am old enough not to be ashamed about things I like. Actually, I am getting more and more into super-trashy music. Like Brazilian country.

Thats Benjamin Hoffman from "The Ben Show", this Wheeler Walker, Jr character is hilarious.

He has other songs I think are even more funny.

lewd lyrics aside some of them are put together really well for a joke. This video in particular makes me laugh. (clean video but still NSFW, The adult version can be found elsewhere)

this one is extremely rude

To paraphrase Mark Twain: “His music isn’t as bad as it sounds”

He's from a few miles north of me here in Kentucky.  His new album has a touching ballad to his baby boy called "All the Pussy you will Slay".

I can't be ashamed.  I was dating my wife when we were teenagers and she moved in with her Aunt and Uncle over some shit with her grandmother (long story).  Anyway, the first time I met her Uncle I was wearing a Danzig t-shirt....you know the one.  Later I got into Type O pretty hard.

To this day, I have a weakness for Amy Lee's vocals so I will hear no ills towards Evanescence.

No shame

Ex Goth/industrial DJ here (other things too) I had a few really successful residencys. My ex wife was a Goth booth groupie but she hates it when I say that (its still true)

I'm not big on the "psuedo goth", actually i'm not extremely big on the goth and preferred the harder industrial.

In reality, I like anything that is or is descended from post-punk.  So, I dig the industrial too.

@video,

I did a goth industrial show on college radio for a while myself.  No where near where I could make money as a DJ though.
