Not the next Serial by any means but an interesting enough examination of a total garbage human being.

Wow! That was super satisfying. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got hooked and blasted through the episodes. Pretty well told and crazy look into the life and motivations of a seriously destructive sociopath. I mean the guy really ticked off all the boxes on sociopathic behavior.

Yeah, I worked through this one pretty quickly. He's your typical psycho. Heard that story a dozen times before. But the story was well told. And, yeah, the mother comes off as a willing victim second time around.

Dirty John has a sequel of sorts. Dr. Death. Another "too good to be true" doctor gone bad. Real bad. Followers of attempts to get the Texas Medical board to shut down quack Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski won't be surprised they fail as well to shut down Dr. Death.

I've altered the title of this thread so we can use it as a catch all for other true crime podcasts that stay with a single crime/criminal over multiple eps. Teacher's Pet is one that's getting some bigger exposure now that they've arrested the husband. It's pretty good so far. Super creepy story about a gang of (mostly) male teachers who preyed upon vulnerable girls in their school. And how silence led to the murder of a mother of 2.

(BTW, looks like Dirty John is being made into a TV series.)

never heard Dirty John but Dr. Death was very good.

just blew through it.  Wow at the gullibility of some people.  Ending was a surprise.  Strong rec, and just the right length, (I didn't listen to any of the bonus episodes, only the main 6).  I wasn't a big fan of serial, I hate unresolved cases, and it went on way too long.

I do get a 40something or 50something woman might get taken advantage of by a charmer. The dating world is tough, especially when you think an ostensibly successful man in your age bracket is chasing 25 year olds. My sympathies were with her until she took him back, being fully aware of the danger he presented to her children.
