Alarm Clocks
« on: July 09, 2018, 04:53:44 PM »
Do any of you have an alarm clock where you can set it for different times each day?  My daughter needs one for college, and she's always forgetting to charge her phone.  I'm searching Amazon, and most of the alarm clocks don't say that you can set the alarm for different times each day.

I now use Google home, you can set as many as you want. I assume Alexa does the same.

I do use my phone as a backup but I have never had google assistant fail , even when wifi goes down as long as its set ahead of time.

I only use my phone.

When I was unemployed and lived in the same town as my elementary school kid and shift-work wife and maintenance-starved house I actually needed many more alarms than I need now, but I've still got 3 recurring alarms (Weekday Wake, Weekend Wake, Tuesday Night Tolkien Class)

Back in unemployment/school days, I had eight different recurring alarms:
  • Weekday Wake
  • Weekday AM head out for the school bus
  • Weekday PM head out for the bus
  • Tuesday night Tolkien class
  • Wednesday/Thursday night head out to pick up wife from work
  • Wednesday late night Recycle/Compost bins to the alley
  • Thursday late night Trash bin to the alley
  • Weekend Wake

How about a dedicated tablet that's always plugged in?
Amend and resubmit.

Or an old second hand phone - you could get a really old one and still have multiple alarm functionality.

thats a really good idea.

Get an android and you can use google assistant in addition to a normal alarm app, I like this one  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alarmclock.xtreme.free&hl=en_US  I set it so I have to complete a math problem to turn off the alarm.

I still prefer my google home, The minis are on sale for $35. The only issue so far is that you are stuck with the same alarm tone but they keep making updates, I expect this to change soon.  Get a cheap android and this will still work if you put the android launcher on it.

I have two old google phones hanging on my walls in different rooms to use as control for my smart home functions and lights. I still use voice more than I ever touch the phones. The one in the family room acts as a remote control for the TV too.

OoOoo...she has a Google mini so that might just be perfect.  I knew asking you folks was the right thing to do.
