I do eat raisins. Got hooked on them as one of two edible fruits in an MRE. I still put them in cereal/oatmeal and sometimes jsut toss a handful down the pipe.

I had lunch today at a yummy Peruvian food truck. I had slow roasted pork tenderloin, mixed green salad with wild rice mixed with walnuts and raisins. I totally get why it makes sense, in theory, to add sweet to savory dishes. On paper the wild rice with raisins is great, and many people probably love it. I still just don't like them. I went all 5 year old and picked the raisins out. Having them warm definitely made it worse for me. I really don't like dried fruit, much rather have crisp than a gooey, chewy, sweet nug. blah

I'm eating pre-raisins.

We call those grapes. In Spain they have HUGE grapes. And there's a tradition that on New Year's eve when the bells toll at midnight, you're supposed to eat one grape for each toll of the bell. Well, I did it, but it was hard because the grapes are so big that eating 12 of them in the time it takes for the bell to toll 12 times is a lot of grapes in a short amount of time. Raisins would be easier.

I do like grapes, though. Lots of sugar. Yum.

I enjoy raisins. But I find they have too many calories.

During my D&D game last night I ate a mix of dried cranberries, yoghurt-covered raisins and almonds. It was delish.

I can't stand the sugar-encrusted raisins in most raisin brans, so I used to buy bran flakes and some golden raisins to make my own. (Also better with Grape Nuts, real vanilla ice cream, by themselves, etc. Not as chewy or sticky, plus a little more flavor IMO.) The worst part is that the same weight of bran flakes was about $2 more expensive than typical raisin bran, plus there was then the cost of raisins. When I could afford it though, worth it.

Staples don't seem to bore. I could see 11 years of raisin bran if I had a taste for it. Which I do not.

I'm pretty sure that I'd crave a change if I ate the same meal every day for just a week. But if it works for you, then it works. Simple as that.

Food is just fuel if I'm not dining with someone.
