Steve mentioning the Hal 9000
« on: December 25, 2018, 01:08:04 pm »
A propos nothing at all really, but for me, 2001 was an amazing movie - I was taken to see it in a huge cinema when it was first released and I loved it.  My youngest son was born in 2001 and we named him Hal, of course! Now, I predicted there would be an noticeable increase in that name but to my surprise I've never seen in IRL ever as a a name for a 2001-born child. And yes, my son does a very creepy "I'm sorry, Dave, I can't do that".  When he was born we put together a few home made cards that featured on the front the monolith with the baby in an inside pics of the baby et al.   If I find it I'll post a pic. And, know you, I still like his name - we picked well and he loves it.

tl;dr I named my 2001 born son "Hal"

Thank you for your time!
