Elon Musk's iPod Submarine
« on: January 24, 2019, 10:39:33 PM »
Anyone seen or played this game before?  It's not unlike mafia in that it involves asychronus information, and trying to infer an answer.  If y'all are up for it, I will run a game or 8.

I’ll give it a go.

Okay, I have actual questions. What order do we answer in?

That's a good question. It wouldn't really be fair to make Musk go first, but you can't have him go last every time. I guess it'd have to be a random order determined in advance.

That seems reasonable to me. The rules on the OP are a touch ambiguous, but it makes sense to read them as "one at a time, draw from the hat". In practice on a forum I guess that would be everyone getting a PM that has "#. Problem" or "#. Musky" on it.

We could also set the turn order in public, as if we were sitting around a table and giving everyone a chance to go first before shuffling the turn order. With only 3 players either would work, I think. If we had many more, the first option would mean we're not tied in for [Player Count]2 rounds before switching it up.

I am attempting to codify some rules for playing on-line.  But basically there would be several rounds, each Musk would be assigned randomly each round.  Then there will be points assigned for achieving certain goals.

The rounds would consist of 1) post your solutions. 2) once we have all solutions, there would be a time for discussion 3) send you guesses to the game mod.
