The case of Tarrare
« on: February 03, 2019, 06:31:58 PM »
So, I was just wondering if anyone here with a medical degree has looked into the case of Tarrare, to see what exactly can be ascertained about him. I'm no doctor, but his pathology and morbidity seem unique.
Here's the Wikipedia entry on him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarrare

I mean, he comes off as some sort of lovechild between a Lovecraftian abyssal horror, and a slimy Cronenberg monster.

Wow, that's an interesting story.  I hope someone has more info on it.

First step should be to verify the account and how well it is attested too.  It may well just be a wildly exaggerated story, its also worth noting that he was employed as a geek at one point.   There may not be anything that actually needs to be explained.
