Have been using one for a while now. Works nicely. I use a generic usb PC adapter for a XBOX 360 controller because I already had the controller. Just plugged everything in and it all worked. Most games I have tried work good, but I have really only played a few SNES Fire Emblem imports for any significant time.

I have a 64 GB card and tried to scrape preview videos and things for emulation station. Ended up filling my SD card. Ugh. I wasn't so far into set up that I couldn't format the SD card and start again. One thing I noticed is vector games (like Star Trek, Asteroids, Tac/Scan) look gorgeous under Mame4all but blocky pieces of shit under mame emulators that work with retroarch.

I built one more for the fun of putting it together than to actually use it for games but I do play every so often.

baseball stars 2 for NES is still as good as any baseball game video game I've ever played.  The graphics are crap but the gameplay is excellent.
I disavow anyone in the movement involved in any illegal, unethical, sexist, or racist behavior. However, I don't have the energy or time to investigate each person and case, and a lack of individual disavowals for each incident should not be construed as condoning such behavior.

I built one and had a lot of fun doing so. Had it hooked up to a USB nintendo controller too.

I used this kit: https://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi/set-up-kits/rpi3-model-b-plus-kits/raspberry-pi-3-model-b-plus-retro-gaming-kit

Eventually repurposed it into a PiHole: https://pi-hole.net/
