Last year in May, there was a pretty major school shooting where ten people were killed (2 teachers and six students) and thirteen others were wounded. The Columbine shooting killed 13, only three more.
I only found out about it recently when an article about Sabika Sheikh, a Pakistani exchange student, crossed my screen.

Are we completely desensitized towards these sorts of things? Also, it is only the second worst of 2018?

Probably because they seem to occur so often that it sadly doesn't even seem much like news any more. I've admittedly gotten the different major school shooting mixed up it seems so common.

I really think it's crossed over into just a fact of life in the USA territory now.
Providing yesterday's solutions to today's problems, tomorrow!

I don't know why you didn't hear about it.  I certainly did.  It was big news.
