How many dinosaurs do you know
« on: April 28, 2019, 07:17:58 AM »
So I was able to think of 43 just sitting here not looking anything up. I could not name a couple more that I can picture but I'm just going to go with 43.
For note I am Layman.

I stopped at 100, though I did include extant dinosaurs as well

Very quickly I named four. Maybe I'd think of a couple more in time. I presume you're talking about non-avian dinosaurs. If we include birds I'll bet I could get up to ten if I really put my mind to it.

But you've seen at least one on TV.

I said 26-50, but if I sat for a long time I might be able to come up with more than 50.  There are a lot of flying reptiles and mammal-like reptiles and aquatic reptiles that I also know, but that are not dinosaurs.

And people doing documentaries on dinos use slightly different models of dinos to make them sound fresh. I have to feed them to Google to find out where they are on the clade.

Do you mean like allosaurus and albertosaurus or muttaburrasaurus and iguanodon?

No, same line but slightly different. I watch Curiosity Stream a lot and have to keep the subtitles on so I can get the correct spelling of a critter on the screen and place it.
