The cavalry tried camels back then. Not much luck.

Camels have been used as mounts by militaries in the Middle East since time immemorial. Napoleon used camel cavalry. There are still a few camel-mounted units operational in Jordan and India.

Camels are, and always have been, a very effective cavalry in desert regions.

Camels for endurance, horses for speed. That's how it was explained to me. "Camels can go in straight lines, but horses can sometimes run around the dunes and still get there first." (Guest lecturer at Purdue, long forgotten his name.)

Well, a cheesy version would be like in Hackers. A more realistic version would be someone sitting in front of a computer staring at terminal text (or digging around in a telecom closet setting up Ethernet wiretaps or something like that). Clearly, there would have to be some real world action. Maybe just one car chase scene, so that they can wirelessly hack & disable the car. I want a movie about an Avengers character and what he/she does on their off time. Banking, dining out, finding love on Tinder.

Another idea. Two actors who can be made to look extremely similar, but one is white, the other black. They start as separate characters that have totally different lives and visual styles, so you think of them as two completely different people with no more than a passing resemblance. Over the course of the movie, the characters are made to look increasingly similar (at a nearly unnoticeable pace), until at the end of the movie (or TV series) they turn out to be the same person leading two lives.
Mooohn!

A screenwriter in Hollywood has an original idea.

The rest of the movie is him fleeing from the outraged Screenwriters' Guild.

As best I can understand, Hollywood doesn't green light many films unless they can make major bank in China ("the foreign box office"). This invariable means recasting the same clutch of major stars and big fx driven blow things up movies. Hollywood won't make movies like Bandlands ever again.

The end result is golden age of TV. Someone with a very good idea for something that would have been made into a 2 hour movie now gets done as a 6 or 8 part TV series on Netflix, HBO, etc.

But my concept is a new idea. Whollyweird has been remaking the same seven-ish plots for decades now.
