President Reagan - Unforgivable Racism

Sorry I had to post this because it made me so angry.

Ronald Reagan called Africans at UN 'monkeys', tapes reveal

"To see those... monkeys from those African countries - damn them, they're still uncomfortable wearing shoes!"
common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Is this new? I thought it has been pretty clear that Reagan was a nasty, irredeemable monster.

I used to have a generally good outlook on Reagan.  Although he was pres before I could vote, and I lived elsewhere for most of his terms.

As I learn more he gets really gross.

Many conservatives have ordained him a saint of the GOP.

Like all saints, in their eyes he did no wrong.

Is there any conservative "saint" that is not a horrible hypocrite?

Individuals, maybe, leaders are far dicier.

It also depends how you are defining conservative. I wouldnt really class our own conservatives as the kinds of people I am referring to when I use the term.

I mean American conservatives for leaders but as far as saints, I am also thinking of Mother Teresa.
