It was heading right for my home before it headed north. Ended up only getting Cat 1 gusts at the house. I watched as it sat on the Bahamas and could not believe what I was seeing.

This seems ambiguous:

... in war the screams are loud and harsh and in peace the wail is so drawn-out we tell ourselves we hear nothing.

Ireland getting some nasty weather:

Quote
D: Tropical Depression – wind speed less than 39 MPH
S: Tropical Storm – wind speed between 39 MPH and 73 MPH
H: Hurricane – wind speed between 74 MPH and 110 MPH
M: Major Hurricane – wind speed greater than 110 MPH
... in war the screams are loud and harsh and in peace the wail is so drawn-out we tell ourselves we hear nothing.

Yikes! Do hurricanes make it that was north and east often?
