Title: SGU Funding for an Australian Visit (perhaps too late)
Post by: grandpotato on October 15, 2008, 10:11:47 PM
Not sure if anyone is aware of this but in Australia there is a yearly event called 'National Science Week'. During this event 'sciency' activities (VR bushwalking, laser cricket etc.) go on across the country.

Anyway one of the issues that seem to come up when you guys talk about Australia is funding. So here's a possible solution (https://grants.innovation.gov.au/SCOPE/Pages/Grants.aspx) (or partial solution). Unfortunately there is only 1 week remaining until the deadline for project applications. So if its not possible for 2009 then maybe 2010.

During this year's National Science week Michael Shermer came down to do a series of lectures. Unfortunately again I found out a week after he left  :(

Also now is a good time to exchange our money while the Australian dollar is worthless (relatively).
