Come play Minecraft with us!

Right now, we are running a modded version of Minecraft from the Feed The Beast Launcher (http://feed-the-beast.com/) third party modpacks called PhoenixCraft (http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/1-7-10-phoenix-craft-v2-0-07-skylands-tech-magic.50284/).

Post here or PM me or Enkidu Shamesh for access info.

Hey guys, my niece is playing pocket edition on android and she has some amazing stuff. But while playing on the school wifi with her friends, some other kids joined the session and destroyed her three months of work. Luckily she got it back.
Im trying to teach her about privacy and security online but it seems like the game has no option to make a server invisible or locked? The only option is multiplayer on/off.
Any suggestions?

How resource intensive is the current FTB pack. I'd like to get back to playing with you guys again, but I was having trouble doing anything before.

It's not nearly as resource intensive as previous packs.  How much RAM can you dedicate?  I use 8 GB, but that is def overkill.  You might get away with 4, possibly 2

Can someone PM me the server info? Trying to see if I can get things working.

Edit: Does anyone know if there is a version of Optifine that will work with this FTB pack? Its pretty much a requirement for me.

I'm guessing the server is dead for now?

Are we up for another change of mods.

I'd like something self contained like Better than woods or something medeaval.

Or we can hit resonant rise which looks popular at the moment.

An excellent idea! I still have the server, but have not done anything with it.  Any ideas?

Better the wolves sounds fun.

But Resonant Rise from the AT Launcher looks fun. It is interesting that we can pick and choose which mods to include in the game. I don't know how easy it is server side, but client side you pick your mods once and it works well without dealing with conflicts and issues. The more mods you pick the slower it gets though, so it should depend what we want in the server.

I'm fine with either.

Any activity/interest?  I've got a new rig that should handle any mod pack.

I let my server lapse due to lack of interest.  I'd be happy to get it up and running, if peeps want to play again

I'm always interested. But My interest drops when I get close to end game.

Currently trying regrowth. I like the HQM games, since those have a certain progression that allows you to not get lost.

Anyone interested in Agrarian Skies 2 multiplayer?  Would be fun to do something which requires cooperation, but which has clear progression and goals.  I think HQM does a lot for Minecraft in that regard.

Well, I reactivated the server and did an install of Agrarian Skies 2 1.1.13

Same hostname as before: SGUFTB.PlayAt.ch

I don't think I should start any quests until some other people are ready to join...

Installing now.

EDIT: I got super-rejected with a mass of mod incompatibilities.  Definitely running 1.1.16 (the alternative download here (http://minecraft.curseforge.com/modpacks/225550-agrarian-skies-2/files/2241811#additional-files) in MultiMC)

It would help if I gave you the right information.

Use version 1.1.13 (http://minecraft.curseforge.com/modpacks/225550-agrarian-skies-2/files/2253747)

Fixed my previous post.

Ok, I give. How do you install it. It says you need curse voice. I might figure it out if I give it a half an hour of thought, but I'm lazy and just want a quick how to.

You can use Curse, but I find that's a RAM hog.  Install MultiMC.  Create a new instance of Minecraft 1.7.10.  Click Edit instance and install the latest Forge.  Run it once and close it.  Right click the instance and open the instance folder, then drag and drop the unzipped mods from the AS2 zip into the "minecraft" folder in the instance folder.  Done.

I take it Agrarian Skies leaves you in a void the entire time?

Yeah it is a skyblock.

The MP map has the capability to have separate spawn island for every player, or group up at the main island.

Well, every time I log in, all my inventory resets, this means I lost my quest book and my starting pack. Also, I seemed to have lost the main islands backup quest book too. Oop! I haven't picked a color. I'm waiting for everyone to start. I think we should do it together. Might as well.

Do you have to restart the world? Do we build in center hub, or should we pick a starter place? Is it infinite lives or Hardcore? I prefer infinite lives so that others don't pay for one's stupidity.
Title: Re: SGU Minecraft
Post by: wastrel on September 18, 2015, 08:22:48 PM
Infinite Lives I'm fine with.

I would rather have a central island with a single team, anyone that wants their own island can be accomodated

Ok, but BTW, I lost my initial inventory when I logged out. If I pick something up and log out and in, I lose it again. I don't know why that is.

So, you gave up? Fine, we play tomorrow. Has been hogging the computer with Goat simulator or minecraft so, he might not let me play at times.

The case with my inventory, it might be that we do need to go to a starter Isle. But I'm just guessing, since all starter isle have a block of water and additional dirt. And when you move to the starter isles, it creates a spawn point.

Keep me updated. cheers.

Fixing up villages is fun, and it turns out the seed, "DOSSIER," spawns you next to a either a castle or a giant walled-in village.
