You bought the Orange box and standalone Portal 1? In't it included in OB? (and arguably the best reason to buy it)

Well, actually I bought Portal 1 & 2 as a bundle first. Yeah, wasted $0.74 on that one...

A rather mediocre winter sale for me, as I've already purchased a lot of the stuff that gets >50% off.

Both Portal games and Spelunky are 90% off.  Get them.
Witness/Braid combo is $16.  Great deal if you like puzzle games.
West of Loathing is under $10.

I'll probably nab the new Wolfenstein?  Already have a large backlog of FPS games.

The Witness is 75% off, only $10.  One of the greatest puzzle games ever (http://store.steampowered.com/app/210970/The_Witness/)

I got a free copy of FTL (http://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/FTL_Faster_Than_Light/) when I bought Into the Breach, but I already own it.

I will gift it to someone who wants it.  Post Steam ID here and it's yours.

Did anyone ever take you up on this?  I have a backlog of like a dozen games, but if literally no one else asks I'll take it.

Is Crusader Kings II a good game? I've never played it but it looks like a perfectly cromulent time-sink.

Excellent gameplay as long as you don't mind "losing" in the long run.  Like other Paradox titles, the journey is the game, the emergent gameplay is what makes it fun. Think of it as a Middle Ages soap opera that you get to participate in.

The story is great. But if you have already played the 3. You would only complain about the second. Its a bit clunky and it feels unresponsive (although it is not, just that it feels). So the gameplay is it's weakest part, but it's playable. unlike Witcher 1.

Was just about to start Witcher 2, but I had to RMA my gaming laptop. Witcher 2 (as well as the first) is available on macOS, but the graphics look advanced enough that I would rather wait, as I doubt my MBP would handle it.

Talos Principle (https://store.steampowered.com/app/257510/The_Talos_Principle/) is currently 80% off, along with other CroTeam games like Serious Sam.

This is a very challenging puzzle game, sort of in the vein of Portal.  You're trying to navigate mazes with the help of various devices:  lasers, electronic jammers, totally-not-companion-cubes, fans, etc, all while receiving messages from an omnipotent god-like voice.  Probably around 100 puzzles, plus crazy-hard custom ones you can download if you find the game too easy.

If you think you have amazing spatial reasoning skills I'd recommend this game to take you down a peg.

Steam Summer Sale starts today.  Pretty much everything is at least 33% off.

So far the only thing I'm picking up is Stephen's Sausage Roll (https://store.steampowered.com/app/353540/Stephens_Sausage_Roll/).  It's one of those "oh come on, how could this possibly be this difficult?" games.

The Steam Link deal was too good to pass up.

ouch

11 games from my wish list are on sale, I still have games from the last summer sale I have not played yet LOL

I'm into VR now. Guess I will stock up again. This brings most of the VR games that were already reasonably priced down to "I cant resist buying now"

Anyone have a recommendation on choosing between Stellaris and Endless Space?  Both are 60% off and I feel like branching out into strategy games.

I can recommend Stellaris. The end game can be a little frustrating but I find that to be true of most 4x games.  I recommend getting the expansions which add a lot more cool elements.
